collecting colours over a cup of coffee...

If you are a lover of printed words, you would know how much of your time is taken by books alone. Then one day, sooner or later, you discover a huge vacuum within that you know next to nothing about other art forms. This blog is an attempt to fulfil one such lacunae in the art of painting. We intend to look up a random painting and upload it with a link here every day whilst having our daily cuppa coffee. In this way at least we hope to be better acquainted with colours, colourers and the schools than what we are now.If you wish to be a part, you know where to shout.

Quiz Answers

Thanks for all those who had written. Unfortunately no one seems to have cracked it. As I had mentioned I guess it was a bit obscure. It was not related to paintings at all.

Firstly, as a few had written, the most evident thing amongst the paintings is the Enigma of Arrival - which has been used as a title for book. This perhaps is one answer, the simplest one.

I suppose if you have bought or seen enough penguin covers the answers become, rather plain. So here we go, in the order of the paintings :

1. Gabriel Garcia Marquez - One Hundred Years of Solitude.

2. The Wasteland and other poems- TS Eliot

3. The Enigma of Arrival - VS Naipaul

4. Nausea - Jean Paul Sartre
5. Selected Poems - JL Borges

6. Kim - Rudyard Kipling

So there. Must be easier now. One another possible answer is all the books are penguins while The Enigma of Arrival is Picador. But the answer I was looking for was JL Borges, Selected Poems featuring Bosch's Garden of Earthly Delights. Borges missed out on the Nobel while the rest were bestowed the honour.
